Salmonella chicken scandal/ Administrator wanted, 3 AKU officials under

Following the scandal with salmonella-tainted chicken imported from Brazil to Albania, the police have declared the administrator of the "diMal" company, AG, 50 years old, wanted and have criminally prosecuted his brother, MG, 53 years old, as well as three AKU inspectors, namely citizens GH, SL and AS. 

The investigation revealed that citizen AG, in his capacity as the company administrator, together with his brother citizen MG, imported food products which, based on analyses by the relevant institutions, were found to contain salmonella bacteria. Citizens GH, SL, and AS, in their capacity as AKU inspectors, through their actions and inactions, allowed the introduction of these products into the market.

"They imported food products that contain salmonella bacteria, the company administrator is wanted and his brother is being prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Importing, producing, selling and storing food dangerous to human health or life".

Three NFA inspectors are also being prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

The Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section at the Tirana DVP, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, carried out investigative and procedural actions in relation to the case of the introduction into our country of a quantity of food products containing salmonella and following the actions, citizen AG, 50 years old, (administrator of a private company) was declared wanted and the following citizens were criminally prosecuted: MG, 53 years old (brother of the 50-year-old), GH, 38 years old, SL, 42 years old and AS, 46 years old.

"The investigation revealed that citizen AG, in his capacity as the company administrator, together with his brother citizen MG, imported food products which, based on analyses by the relevant institutions, were found to contain salmonella bacteria. Citizens GH, SL, and AS, in their capacity as AKU inspectors, with their actions and inactions, allowed the introduction of these products into the market," the police announced./ CNA
