Albanian 'betrayed' by motorcycle accident/ 52 kg of drugs and 100 thousand euros seized

A high-speed motorcycle accident seems to have brought a double trouble to an Albanian in Italy. One turbulent night in the Castelli Romani area, in Albano Laziale, on Via Nettunense, the Carabinieri from the Cecchina station pursued and stopped after 4 kilometers, an Albanian on a motorcycle who had ignored a stop ordered by the officers.  

During house searches, Carabinieri investigators seized 52.1 kilograms of drugs (45.7 kilograms of hashish and 6.4 kilograms of marijuana in vacuum-packed packages).

In Ardea (province of Rome), 72,500 euros in cash and handwritten notes related to drug trafficking and 24,800 euros in cash, believed to be of illicit origin, were also found and seized.

Further investigations led to the identification of other drug storage locations. The Albanian was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and was sent to the Velletri prison./CNA
