Entered a restaurant at dawn/ 45-year-old Albanian arrested for theft in Rome

A 45-year-old Albanian man was arrested for robbery at a restaurant in Rome.

At dawn, when the Casal de' Pazzi restaurant should have been closed, the alarm connected to the Rome Police headquarters caused the intervention of patrol cars.

Italian media reports that police officers arrived within minutes and found the front door slightly open. Upon entering, they encountered a 45-year-old man of Albanian origin who was attempting to force his way into the cash register.

Upon seeing the officers, he attempted to flee but was caught nearby. Inside the restaurant, officers also discovered a wheelbarrow already filled with bottles of wine and fine spirits, ready to be removed from the premises.

The Albanian was arrested for aggravated theft. The prosecution requested and received the validity of the arrest from the preliminary investigation judge. /CNA
