Sailing boat stuck in the Seman estuary/2 German citizens rescued

Assistance is being provided to two German citizens, whose sailboat had been stranded since yesterday evening at the mouth of the Seman River.

The Vlora DVKM Operations Room received notification that a German-flagged sailboat, with two citizens on board, had become stranded at the mouth of the Seman River and assistance was requested.

Immediately, the Maritime Patrol Unit launched a vessel, which enabled the safe transportation of the two citizens to the shore.

Verifications revealed that the sailboat had departed from Corfu, Greece, and due to terrain conditions, had been blocked in this area since yesterday evening.

Both citizens are in good health and will be assisted by the Vlora Port Authority for further actions. /CNA
