Violation of traffic rules/ 19 drivers arrested, 39 licenses suspended

The increased checks on all road axes continue, for the identification and punishment of violators of traffic rules who are a potential risk for involvement in road events, as well as for the increase of road safety parameters in the capital.

During the past week, 19 citizens were arrested and prosecuted for driving while drunk or without a driving license.

34 driving licenses were suspended, for driving under the influence of alcohol, for speeding beyond the permitted rates and for other violations of the Traffic Code.

461 drivers were punished with administrative measures for using mobile phones while driving.

393 drivers were punished for not giving priority to pedestrians, on white lines.

378 drivers were punished for not wearing a seat belt.

208 administrative measures have been imposed for non-use of protective helmets and non-use of phosphorescent vests by motor vehicle drivers.

Also, special attention during this week has been paid to the non-respect of the "Stop" sign and 58 administrative measures have been imposed for this violation./CNA.al
