Prosecution sends two brothers to trial for murder of businessman

The Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Court of First Instance completed the investigations and sent to trial the two brothers FD and Sh.D., accused of premeditated murder in collaboration, illegal possession and production of firearms and cold weapons.

According to the indictment, Sh.D., in collaboration with his brother FD, killed businessman ER for financial reasons. The victim, who had built and rented out several residential and commercial buildings in Tirana, had a property dispute with the defendants, who had built partially on his land.

Investigations revealed that the murder was carefully planned, the brothers had secured weapons and binoculars, studied the place and time to carry out the crime in secret, striking at night to avoid cameras and witnesses.

The prosecution relies on evidence and clues that directly link Sh.D. and FD to the crime that occurred on November 13, 2024, after they had previously attempted to kill the victim on November 8 of the same year.

The indictment also states that the relationship between the victim and the defendants had been tense for years, due to illegal construction and disputes over land and ownership of the premises.

The trial is expected to take place in the coming days at the Tirana Court of First Instance./ CNA
