The border police block 21 vessels

The safety of vacationers, the priority of the work of the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit. 

Along the entire coastline, lake and river areas, the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police continue to check the vessels, with the sole aim of preventing incidents with consequences for the life and health of vacationers.

From Ksamil to Koman, the Border Police has blocked 21 vessels.

Blocked vehicles: 11 Jet Skis, 4 dinghies, 4 speedboats and 2 boats.

15 vessels were blocked by the Border Police of Vlora, 3 by the Border Police of Shkodra and 3 by the Border Police of Durrës.

Violations found: sailing in a prohibited area, practicing marine tourism activity in violation of the law, exceeding the number of passengers allowed on board, failure to register the vessel within the specified period and lack of documentation.        

In addition to blocking the vessels, their drivers were punished with administrative measures ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 ALL.   

- In Tale, Shengjin, Velipojë, Durrës, Dhërmi, Radhimë and Saranda, 11 Jet Ski boats were blocked. One of the leaders was punished with an administrative measure of 100,000 lek, for navigating in a prohibited area, specifically in the trajectory of the movement of ferries on the Sarandë-Corfuz line; 8 managers were each punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 ALL, for lack of documentation on board, while 2 managers were punished with an administrative measure of 20,000 ALL, for not registering the vessel within the deadline set by law.    

- In Koman, Dhërmi, Orikum, Vlora, Ksamil and Saranda, 4 rafts, 4 skiffs and 1 boat were blocked. Each of the leaders was punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 ALL, for lack of documentation on board. 

- A plastic boat was blocked in Saranda. Its driver was punished with administrative measures of 100,000 Lek and 20,000 Lek, for sailing in a prohibited area and for exceeding the number of passengers allowed on board.  

The Border Police appeals to all boat users to continue to follow the rules for the use of boats and to respect the designated areas for boating, so that they and other vacationers are safe and calm. 

It also invites citizens to report any violation of the security perimeter and irregular use of watercraft to the toll-free number 112, guaranteeing a quick response, based on the law./ CNA
