The police have arrested three people after they were caught transporting illegal immigrants.

Their accomplice is also wanted.

They transported with 3 vehicles, against payment, 13 immigrants who would cross illegally into EU countries, 3 citizens were arrested.

Their accomplice, who was driving his vehicle, in front of 3 vehicles with immigrants, to monitor the road, for the presence of Police services, is wanted.

One of the arrested, a repeat offender for this criminal activity, currently under security measure "Compulsion to appear".

The 3 vehicles used to transport the immigrants and the other vehicle were seized.

The services of the Sarandë Police Station, in cooperation with the Gjirokastër Border Police and Frontex, following operations focused on preventing, identifying and cracking down on providing assistance to immigrants from third countries, against payments, to cross the border illegally, based on and in the information provided by the information intelligence, they have finalized the coded police operation "Border 8", to attack another case of this illegal activity.

As a result of this operation, citizens EK, 26 years old (with previous criminal record), EB, 23 years old and BK, 43, were arrested on the road axis Gjirokastër-Saranda, in the place called "Former Salt Mine", Finiq. years old, all three living in Tirana.

As part of this operation, the accomplice of these 3 citizens, citizen LC, 29 years old, resident of Tirana, who abandoned the vehicle he was driving, was identified and declared wanted. Efforts are being made to catch him.

All 4 of these citizens cooperated with each other to carry out the transportation against payment of 13 immigrants, in order to cross the border illegally. Citizens EK, EB and BK respectively drove "BMë", "Volkswagen" and "Skoda" type vehicles, with which immigrants were transported, while citizen LC (announced wanted after identification by the Police services) drove his vehicle, with purpose of monitoring the road, to avoid Police services.

The 4 vehicles used by these citizens for this criminal activity, as well as their cell phones, were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Saranda, for further action, for the criminal offense "Aiding illegal border crossing", carried out in cooperation./CNA
