Injuring two people under the influence of drugs, the 36-year-old man in Korça is in prison

The 36-year-old Jonis Mazllemi, who injured a 52-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man with an ax three days ago in the Korça Market, has been left in prison by the Korça court.

In the session for setting the security measure, the prosecution requested the measure of "prison arrest" for Mazllem, a request which was accepted by the court.

The appointed defense lawyer mainly requested compulsory hospitalization as an insurance measure, but the request was rejected by the court due to the lack of documentation proving the 36-year-old's mental health problems.

Jonis Mazllemi's statements in court were the product of hallucinations, according to the defense lawyer.

He claimed that the two people he injured would poison him and persecute him because of a large fortune that his grandfather had left him.

The 36-year-old had not eaten food for 10 days due to the phobia of poisoning. Meanwhile, Mazllemi was an early drug user and for two years did not receive treatment for either drug addiction or mental health problems./ CNA
