Anti-drug operation in Perugia/ 25 kg of cocaine seized, an Albanian arrested

A major anti-drug operation was finalized by the financial police of Perugia, which seized about 25 kilograms of cocaine.

According to the Guardia di Finanza, the drugs could have brought over 2.5 million euros to the market.

An Albanian resident of Spello was arrested and found in possession of drugs. The operation was carried out by the financial police of the Economic and Financial Police Unit.

The drugs were divided into blocks hidden in two homemade double bottoms under the rear seats of the car in which the arrested person was traveling, accessible only through a sophisticated mechanical opening system: It was divided into ten blocks, investigators report, recovered along with 10 thousand euros believed to be the proceeds of trafficking and distribution.

The rest of the cocaine, according to the note from the Guardia di Finanza, was in two houses that could be traced back to the arrested person, located in Spello and Foligno, where 11 more blocks of cocaine were seized, for a total of about 13 kilograms, a stolen weapon, 46 thousand euros in cash and several telephone devices, some of which were "encrypted".

The Albanian was suspected of being involved in a large drug trafficking operation between Spello, Foligno and the rest of the province. Thus, following the surveillance and targeted pursuit operations carried out over the last few weeks by the Guardia di Finanza of Perugia, what are considered "concrete circumstantial evidence" of actual involvement in illegal activities came to light. /CNA
