Anti-drug operation/ Two British citizens arrested in Dhërmi

The Vlora Police has finalized another anti-drug operation as part of measures to guarantee order and security in the tourist areas of the district. The operation, codenamed "Cocktail", was carried out by the Narcotics Investigation Section in cooperation with the investigation support structures.

During the operation conducted in the tourist village of Dhërmi, two British citizens, JB, 34 years old and JC, 33 years old, residing in London, were arrested. Various doses of narcotics and cash, suspected of having been obtained from illegal activity, were found and seized.

In total, the Police seized:

-52 doses of MDMA

-51 doses of ketamine

-120 ecstasy tablets

-6 185 euros and 720 pounds

-4 mobile phones

-The "Mitsubishi" vehicle used by the detainees.

The two suspects were accommodated in a room in Dhërmi, while narcotics were found in both the room and their vehicle. It is suspected that they were carrying out the criminal activity of distributing drugs in night areas and areas frequented by tourists along the coast.

The materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora for further investigations./ CNA
