Police operation in Puglia, Italy/ 13 kg of drugs were transported by an

Investigations conducted by the San Severo Public Security Police Station in Italy, through the use of technical activities, have brought to light a large-scale drug trafficking between the territories of Lesina, Campomarino, Sannicandro Garganico, Cerignola and Ruvo di Puglia, in which an Albanian citizen is also involved.

According to Italian media, an Albanian citizen played a central role in managing large quantities of narcotics, acting as a wholesaler and main supplier of cocaine and cannabis in those territories.

The illicit negotiations are alleged to have been conducted with great confidentiality and attention, particularly through the use of encrypted messaging applications and, only rarely, using traditional telephone communication.

By monitoring three cars used by the convicted suspect, all registered to a rental company operating in the Gargano area, it was possible to trace the contacts and individuals who would be involved in the drug trafficking activity and reconstruct the Albanian citizen's relationships with known local criminals.

Finally, the described investigative hypotheses were confirmed thanks to two fundamental findings obtained from the audio-video technical activities that allowed the documentation, in detail, of a negotiation with relative drug exchange between the committed suspect, a known criminal, and an Albanian citizen, still unidentified, in the territory of Ruvo di Puglia and, moreover, the transportation of a large quantity of narcotic substance, approximately 13 kg, with the relative use of weapons to ensure its transportation.

The investigation has shed light on a large drug trafficking network and has allowed the identification of a series of individuals competing with each other and operating in multiple provinces, including many repeat offenders, well-known figures in the Gargano crime scene, demonstrating the dangerousness of the persons investigated and their profound consequences on the territory of the Province of Foggia./CNA
