In 24 hours, 18 vessels are blocked by the police

Following the work for the control of vessels, along the entire coastal, lake and river line, and in implementation of the last orders given by the Minister of the Interior, for increased vigilance, in order to intervene in time to block the vessels that endanger the lives of vacationers sailing near or within the security perimeter, as well as to react in time to the requests for help made by tourists and vacationers, the Border Police and the Vlora Maritime Police Unit, during the last 24 hours, have intensified monitoring on the coastline. 

As a result of monitoring, exchange of information and coordination of actions with land patrols, as well as thanks to cooperation with citizens, the Border Police has blocked during the last 24 hours, from Saranda to Vlora, 18 vessels that were found to be illegal.

Blocked vehicles: 13 Jet Skis, 4 dinghies and 1 speedboat.   

Violations found: navigation in a prohibited area, failure to register the ownership of the vessel and lack of documentation on board.               

- In Dhërmi, Palasa, Vlora and Saranda, 13 Jet Ski boats have been blocked. One of the drivers was fined 100,000 lek for sailing in a prohibited area, as well as 20,000 lek for not registering the ownership of the boat, while the 12 other drivers were fined 10,000 lek each. , for lack of documentation.              

- In Dhërmi, Palasa, Radhimë and Vlora, 4 dinghies and 1 boat were blocked. The driver of one of the dinghies was fined 100,000 ALL for sailing in a prohibited area, while the drivers of the other 3 dinghies and the driver of the boat were each fined 10,000 ALL for lack of documentation.  

Yesterday afternoon, the Border Police of Vlora received a call from a citizen, who asked for help after the tourist boat with 200 tourists on board, with which she was sailing, had suffered a malfunction while sailing in the sea, in Vlora. Immediately, the services of the Border Police started with their boats, in the direction of the given address. The tourist ship was brought ashore and anchored in the port of Vlora. 

In addition, the services of the Border Police have received a notification that a dinghy had suffered a malfunction during navigation, in the bay of Borshi. The Police Services immediately went to the given address and helped these 3 citizens, taking them ashore with the Border Police's boat.

The passengers of the tourist boat and the 3 citizens who sailed in the rafts are all in good health. They have thanked the Police services, for the readiness and assistance they provided.

The Border Police of Vlora appeals to all boat users to follow the rules for the use of boats and to respect the designated areas for sailing with these boats, in order for them and other vacationers to be safe and calm. / CNA
