The Traffic Police is intensifying controls using the "Scout Speed" intelligent vehicle to identify and punish violators of traffic rules, with the aim of increasing the safety parameters of life on the road.

The Tirana Traffic Police has begun monitoring the main urban axes with the "Scout Speed" Intelligent Vehicle to punish vehicles that circulate at speeds above the permitted rates, documenting with film evidence vehicles that stop in the path of other vehicles which become an obstacle to the normal circulation of other vehicles and from time to time becoming the cause of traffic jams.

At the same time, other violations of road traffic rules have been identified through the smart vehicle, such as using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seat belt, automatically identifying vehicles with unpaid administrative fines through their license plates, and wrongful overtaking.

During 24/7 monitoring with the smart vehicle, 6,689 drivers were identified and punished this week for the above violations alone.

The Tirana Traffic Police Services are engaged with all human and technical capacities to identify and document violations of road traffic rules, with the aim of ensuring the free circulation of vehicles and preventing road accidents.

The Tirana Traffic Police appeals to all drivers to respect road traffic rules and not to park in places where they become an obstacle to the normal free movement of other vehicles, as vehicles that are found will be moved by trolley to the Traffic Police checkpoint. /CNA
