Fire in a building in Gjirokastra / Two elderly people injured

A fire on the third floor of a building in Gjirokastra has injured two elderly people and forced the evacuation of the rest of the residents. The incident occurred in the "18 Shtatori" neighborhood in Gjirokastra.

It is learned that the incident occurred due to the explosion of a gas cylinder, which caused a fire in the apartment of citizen VK.

The elderly couple with the initials PK and AK were asphyxiated by the smoke. They were taken to the hospital where they are receiving medical attention and are out of danger.

Police forces went to the scene and evacuated the other residents of the building.

Fire services were able to extinguish the fire.

The investigative group is working to fully clarify the circumstances and legally document the case. /CNA
