Cocaine laboratory in Frakull/ 49-year-old arrested in Spain, extradition

One of the people wanted for drug trafficking and criminal group has been arrested in Spain with the aim of extradition to Albania. Kevin Margjoni, 49, who was involved in the cocaine laboratory in Frakull, Fier, has been arrested.

The Criminal Court has imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration, in the form of a structured criminal group, "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or structured criminal group" and "Structured criminal group".

"As a result of the cooperation of Interpol Tirana with its counterparts in Madrid, citizen Kevin Margjoni, 49 years old, who was declared internationally wanted, after the Criminal Court of Albania assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration, in the form of a structured criminal group, "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group" and "Structured criminal group" , was captured in Spain and arrested with the aim of extradition to Albania," the police statement said.

On November 24, 2022, about 600 bags of chemical fertilizer were found in the yard of a house, which after examination resulted in containing about 485.5 kg of cocaine coming from Colombia.

The drugs were discovered in a well-organized operation by SPAK, DEA and Montenegrin police, after an investigation lasting about 3 months. The narcotics came from Colombia, while in Albania they were processed for the European market.  /CNA
