Crackdown on prostitution/ The "head" of the network is arrested

Investigations and operational actions continue, within the framework of Operation "Space", organized on 22.09.2025, to crack down on a case of apartment conversion for the purpose of practicing prostitution.

The organizer of this criminal activity, a Turkish citizen, is identified and arrested.

This citizen's 3 cell phones were seized. During the first phase of Operation "Space", the Trafficking Investigation Section arrested 3 Chinese citizens and referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office for 5 citizens.

As a result of the investigations carried out within the framework of this operation, with the aim of bringing to criminal responsibility all citizens implicated in a case of adapting apartments for the purpose of practicing prostitution, the investigative structures of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, identified the suspected organizer of this criminal activity, Turkish citizen IY, 37 years old, who was arrested by the services of Police Commissariat No. 2, Tirana.

From the investigations so far, it is suspected that this citizen recruited the 3 Chinese citizens (arrested during Operation "Space"), to practice prostitution in a rented apartment in neighborhood no. 13, Durrës./ CNA
