Anti-drug operation in Korça/ Police provide details

Korça Police have provided details of the anti-drug operation conducted, during which two people were arrested and a quantity of narcotics was seized.

The police statement states that the arrested are charged with "Production and sale of narcotics", "Production and unauthorized possession of hunting and sporting weapons" and "Illegal crossing of the state border".

They were distributing narcotics in the city of Korça, they were caught red-handed with cannabis in the vehicle and 2 citizens were arrested.

Dozens of doses of cannabis, a sum of money suspected to have been gained from the sale of the doses, a quantity of shotgun cartridges and the vehicle used by these citizens for this criminal activity were seized.

As a result of the checks carried out, based on the data obtained on the operational route, the services of the Special Force "Eagle" caught 2 citizens red-handed, while they were driving a vehicle, with the aim of selling the narcotic substance cannabis, divided into doses. At the time of the arrest, during the physical search of citizens EP and SM, as well as during the search of the vehicle, the Police services found and seized a quantity of suspected narcotic substance cannabis, divided into doses, ready for sale.

Following the actions, during the search of citizen EP's apartment, another quantity of cannabis, a sum of money suspected to have been obtained from this criminal activity, as well as a quantity of shotgun cartridges were found and seized.

The verifications revealed that citizen SM had crossed the border illegally.

At the conclusion of the procedural actions, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Sector arrested the following citizens in flagrante delicto:

EP, 30 years old, resident of Korça, for the criminal offenses of "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons";

SM, 25 years old, resident of the village of Vashtmi, Maliq, for the criminal offenses "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Illegal crossing of the state border".

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, work continues to identify and arrest other citizens who may be involved in this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action.
