SPAK revealed today details about the criminal organization in Elbasan, of the brothers Franc and Hajdar Çopja, who are accused of trafficking cocaine in Europe and beyond.

According to SPAK's announcement, the two brothers began to eliminate opponents in 2018, to dominate the market and establish their hegemony over other groups.

The first murder was that of Endri Alibej, Arben Dylgjer and the Turkish citizen Erdal Duranay, on December 29, 2018, in Bradashesh, Elbasan.

"The triple murder, where citizen Endrit Alibej was killed on 29.12.2018, in the place called Bradashesh roundabout in Elbasan, is proven beyond reasonable doubt that it was committed by this criminal organization and that the purpose of this murder is related to competition for controlling the cocaine market. The murder of the citizen Endrit Alibej (a known exponent in cocaine trafficking) was followed by the ordering of the murders of several relatives of the citizen Endrit Alibej", the announcement states.

The Special Prosecutor's Office declares that the Çopja brothers are hiding behind 6 murders and 14 attempted murders.

They are the ones who ordered the murders of Klevi Baho, Andi Zylyfi and Klevis Kapllani. Also, it is accused that the brothers ordered the remaining attempted assassinations against Erion Alibey, Nuredin Duman, Aleksandër Baho and a number of other people.

Also, SPAK emphasizes that the armed robbery of 10 million euros at Rinas airport, on April 9, 2019, was organized by the criminal organization of 2 brothers

Excerpts from SPAK's announcement:

During the intensive investigations carried out by BKH investigators, under the guidance of special prosecutors, it became possible to document the criminal activity of suspected persons, as well as to identify some of the perpetrators of criminal events and the commission of criminal offences, which were carried out in cooperation, in the form of a criminal organization, as follows:

1) The criminal fact "Murder in qualifying circumstances" to the detriment of the victims Endrit Alibej, Arben Dylgjeri and the Turkish citizen Erdal Duranay, event that happened on 29.12.2018, at 21:00, in the place called Bradashesh, Tirana road axis - Elbasan, near Dervishaj restaurant;

2) The criminal fact "The murder in qualifying circumstances of the citizen Klevin Baho and the wounding of his brother, the citizen Aldo (Aleksandër) Baho", event that occurred on 01.07.2019, at 00:30, in the village of Broshke, Elbasan;

3) The criminal fact "Murder in qualifying circumstances to the detriment of the victims Andi Zylyfi and the wounding of the citizen Ardit Uruçi", an event that occurred on 13.12.2019, in the village of Përparim, Peqin;

4) The criminal fact "murder of the citizen Klevis Kapllani", an event that happened on 15.09.2020, in the village of Sinaballaj, Rrogozhinë;

5) Criminal fact "Murder with premeditated intent remaining in the attempt", to the detriment of the citizen Kei Piku, event that happened on 16.01.2020, in the neighborhood "Kongresi i Elbasan", in Elbasan;

6) The criminal fact "Murder with premeditated intent remaining in the attempt", to the detriment of the citizen Irfan Azizi, event that occurred on 29.11.2020, at the place called Poshnje roundabout in Vajgurore Bridge, Berat.

7) Criminal Fact "Attempted armed robbery, to the detriment of the citizen Minella Muçi and Attempted Murder of the State Police Employee, which occurred on 23.03.2018, in the 28 November district, in Fier;

8) Criminal Fact "Theft at gunpoint of monetary values" that were to be transported on the Tirana-Vienna flight, event that occurred on 04/09/2019, on the runway of the "Mother Teresa" airport, Rinas, Tirana.

Also, this criminal organization has also carried out active actions by providing the conditions and material means in order to commit the murder of several citizens, specifically:

9) Criminal Fact "Providing the conditions and material means to commit murder", to the detriment of the citizen Erion Alibej, an event planned to be carried out in the time period November 2019 - January 2020;

10) Criminal Fact "Providing the conditions and material means to commit murder", to the detriment of the citizen Erion Alibej, an event planned to be carried out after the quarantine period in 2020;

23) Cases of supporting the perpetrator of the crime, actions that prevent the discovery of the truth and non-reporting of the crime have been identified and documented.

24) In addition, the recruitment of two state police officers to carry out actions contrary to duty on behalf of the criminal organization has been documented.

25) The criminal fact of "Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other functionaries of justice bodies", event that happened during 2020 in Elbasan and "Active corruption of judges, prosecutors and other functionaries of justice bodies" was also recorded ".

26) Investigations have also revealed the criminal fact of "Disclosure of secret acts or data", by an employee of the judicial administration of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Elbasan, committed during the time period September - October 2020, in Elbasan./ CNA
