In a special ceremony, the 85 youngest officers of the Armed Forces who completed the three-year cycle (bachelor) studies and the post-graduate course of Officer Preparation at the Academy of the Armed Forces graduated.

Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi, while wishing them success in a long and safe career within the Armed Forces, said that from today they are "guardians of the sovereignty and integrity of our beloved Albania". "This success that you are celebrating today would not be possible if there was not a burning fire of love for Albania in your hearts."

Minister Peleshi also congratulated the 4 cadets of the Republic of Kosovo who graduated with a bachelor's degree and who will join the Kosovo Security Force. At the same time, Minister Peleshi expressed his commitment to strengthen cooperation with Kosovo in the field of military education. 

"Kosovo and the entire Western Balkan region need military leaders with vision and integrity to build a bright and secure future. We will continue to strengthen cooperation and opportunities for Kosovo cadets, multiplying the numbers and every opportunity for joint growth and development, side by side with the Kosovo Security Force", he emphasized.


The consolidation of the military formation and the reformation of the FA Academy has been a top priority and will remain so, the Minister of Defense said in his speech. "In partnership with the US Military Academy West Point and the National Guard of New Jersey, our Academy has become a serious offer for all young men and women today. The best indicator is the high number of applications, which I am sure will exceed 1000 for 70 quotas this year. It is a very big interest, which is not only related to the offer that is not competitive with any institution of higher education in the country, because after graduating from school, lieutenants will receive a salary of around 900 thousand old lek per month and this is a very good start. the best of a long and secure career. But it is not only this, it is of course also national pride, patriotism and love for the country. We offer bachelor's level programs, but also Master's programs in Cyber ??Security, International Relations, Artificial Intelligence. Our academy will continue to be a modern pole of higher military education, scientific research and innovation in the field of defense and national security', Minister Peleshi declared.

In his speech, the Minister of Defense confirmed the continuation of the government's support for the military, especially for the youth by offering dignified financial and social treatment with the aim of reaching the average level of NATO countries.


For his part, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Arben Kingji, wished success to the younger officers of the FA. Present at this ceremony were the Commander of AFA, Brigadier General Bardhyl Nuredinaj, representatives of the Government, MPs of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Deputy Minister of Defense of Kosovo Shemsi Syla, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Tirana as well as family members./CNA
