The appeal of GJKKO released the lawyer Alban Bengasi from the cell. The latter was suspected of paying 120,000 euros for the murder of his ex-wife.

The decision taken this Saturday by the court came after the request of his lawyer, who had requested the cancellation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" and the judge of the case decided to release him from the cell.

The court's decision states that: "Ordering the immediate release of the defendant ZAB from the detention facilities, if his personal freedom is not restricted for another legal reason"

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a monocratic panel composed of judge Florjan Kalaja, today on 27.07.2024, announced the decision on criminal case no. 173 act, date 25.07.2024 registration, on the appeal presented by the appellant AB, with object: Request for extinguishment of the security measure "Arrest in prison", and decided:

? Finding the cancellation of the security measure "Arrest in prison" assigned to the defendant ZAB with Decision no. 42, dated 17.05.2022 and verified by Decision no. 103, dated 08.09.2023 of the First Instance Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime.

? Ordering the immediate release of the ZAB defendant from the detention facilities, if his personal freedom is not restricted for another legal reason.

? Against this decision, recourse can be exercised within 45 days from the day after the reasoned announcement of the decision./ CNA
