The international activity "80th Cycling Tour of Albania"/ The State

The State Police has announced the measures to guarantee the safety of cyclists and to facilitate the movement of vehicles in some road sections, during the development of the international activity "The 80th Cycling Tour of Albania", which starts on 22.05.2023 and ends on 26.05.2023.

The services of the Traffic Police, General Patrols and Special Force "Shqiponja", DVP Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Vlorë and Gjirokastër, in cooperation with the organizers of the international activity "80th Cycling Tour of Albania", have received measures for the smooth running of the activity, in terms of road safety and order.

In order to guarantee the development of this activity and to notify the citizens who have planned to travel on the road axes, on the dates that this cycling tour will take place, the State Police has taken the appropriate measures to block and divert the movement of vehicles on the road axes where the activity will take place.

The cycling activity includes 5 stages of races with long itineraries on some of the national roads. 15 teams from different countries of the world and 150 competitors participate in this activity.

- The first stage starts on 22.05.2023, at 12:00, with the route "Mother Teresa" square, Tirana - Elbasan - Dushk - Lushnjë. On the way back, the same itinerary is followed, to end in Krrabë, at 16:30;

- The second stage starts on 23.05.2023, at 12:00, with the route "Mother Teresa" square, Tirana - Elbasan - Lushnjë and ends in the center of Elbasan, at 17:00;

-The third stage starts on 24.05.2023, at 12:00, with the "Aqif Pasha" boulevard route, Elbasan - Lushnjë - Fier and ends in Vlora, at 16:15;

- The fourth stage starts on 25.05.2023, at 12:00, with the route Lungomare, Vlorë - Fier - Mbrostar Ura, Fier - Levan - Tepelën and ends in Permet, at 18:30;

- The fifth stage starts on 26.05.2023, at 10:00, with the route center of Përmet - Tepelën - Levan and ends in Fier, at 13:00.

Given that the cycling activity includes lengths and road routes in most of the national axes that connect the south of Albania with other important centers, the State Police appeals and asks for the understanding of citizens to avoid traffic on the roads that are part of the route , in the schedule of activity development./ CNA.al
