48-year-old woman loses her life/ Family members accuse Korça hospital

A 48-year-old woman has passed away in her apartment in neighborhood 15 of the city of Korça. Gentiana Nano was taken to the emergency room of Korça Hospital two days ago after experiencing breathing problems, and was treated in the emergency room and then sent home.

The next day, she again did not feel well and her family called the ambulance and the doctor gave her injections as the victim had arrhythmia and low blood pressure. This morning, it was learned that the 48-year-old woman again did not feel well and it was her son and father who found her lifeless in the room.

Her son Erdiol Nano has leveled accusations against the doctors at Korça Hospital, saying that the latter have not shown the necessary care for his mother.

"Mom said I'm not feeling well, I feel tired and my heart is beating fast. She wasn't feeling well and said we're going to take her to the hospital. We took her, they did some tests, they told her she had anemia, they gave her some medication and we left. She kept saying I'm not feeling well but the doctors didn't tell us anything and they took her out. How can you let a person leave when he tells you he's not feeling well?

The next day she said she wasn't feeling well again and we called the ambulance. They told us she had low blood pressure and a fast heartbeat and gave her three injections. During the day, mom complained again that she wasn't feeling well. This morning she got up, got something to eat and was in her room. Grandpa told me to go talk to mom because she wasn't responding to us. I got up and went there, saw her lying down, and realized she had passed away.

"I want to know why the doctors didn't tell us what to do? Why didn't they leave him in the hospital but took him out? How did they let him leave the hospital in that condition? Today it happened to me, tomorrow it could happen to someone else."

Korça Police are taking statements from family members about the case, while the medical staff who were on duty during these two days are also expected to be questioned. On the other hand, the 48-year-old's body will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death./ CNA
