Assassination in Manhattan/ The head of the American insurance company is killed

The General Director of the American insurance company "UnitedHealthcare" was killed this Wednesday in Manhattan.

Brian Thompson was on his way to the New York Hilton hotel to attend UnitedHealthcare's annual investor conference.

According to what " CNN " reports, an armed and masked person waited for about 10 minutes before Thompson's arrival and shot him from about 20 meters away.

The author of the assassination of Thompson escaped from the scene, crossing an alley and then riding a bicycle. The police suspect that the alleged perpetrator of the incident fled to "Central Park".

50-year-old Thompson was shot in the chest. According to investigators, the perpetrator shot Thompson with a silenced weapon.

Thompson was named CEO of UnitedHealthcare in April 2021. UnitedHealthcare is part of the UnitedHealth Group, ranked fifth in the Fortune 500./ CNA
