Vucic: I will request a session for Kosovo in the UN Security Council

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, declared on July 6 that he will request a conversation with the head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, and then, an urgent session of the Security Council of the United Nations (UN) due to the situation in Kosovo.

He said he will request that the Security Council order KFOR to - based on the obligations of Resolution 12 44 - prevent any further action by the security structures of Kosovo, which "threatens the life, freedom, security and survival of Serbs in Kosovo", to carry out "the demilitarization of all armed formations".

Vucic said that Serbia did everything it could to escalate the situation in Kosovo, but that an "action of pogrom, persecution and ethnic cleansing" of Serbs is being carried out in Kosovo, which is "well organized and supported by a part of the community international".

According to him, the "criminalization of the Serbian people" is taking place in Kosovo.

In this context, he also commented on the statement of the British MP, Alicia Kearns, that weapons are being smuggled from Serbia to Kosovo with emergency vehicles and that they are "stored" in the facilities of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The British Member of Parliament, at the same time the head of the Foreign Policy Committee of the British Parliament, Alicia Kearns, made this statement in the British Parliament on July 4.

Vuçiqi said that Kearns is a "lobbyist" for Kosovo.

"We are conducting an investigation against you, to see who is paying you everything", said Vucic. ?

The Serbian president announced that next week he is considering the possibility of signing a decision to ban the further export of ammunition from Serbia, as well as any weapons "because the vital national interest of Serbia is threatened".

He said that everything should be prepared in case of aggression against Serbia.

"Serbia is not preparing for any war, but is ready to save the lives of its people," said Vucic.

Vucic also said that Serbia will consider the request of the Serbian List, the leading party of the Serbs in the north of Kosovo, to declare the special units of the Kosovo Police a terrorist organization.

"We will take decisions in a responsible manner and in the next 14 days we will inform our international partners", declared Vucic.

Lista Serbe - the main party of Serbs in Kosovo - has asked the Government of Serbia to declare the special units of the Kosovo Police, the intelligence structures and all "collaborators of these structures" as "terrorist organizations because they threaten the peace in these areas". referring to the north of Kosovo.

In the letter sent to the Serbian Government, it is stated that the Serbian people "are suffering from the terror and repression of the anti-Serb regime of [Kosovo Prime Minister] Albin Kurti for two years".

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on July 5 rejected the claims that the extension of the situation and the normalization of relations with Serbia are not being achieved, since there is no agreement. He said that the Agreement towards normalization, which the parties signed in February in Brussels, as well as its Annex in Ohrid a month later, exists and that it must be implemented in its entirety.

Since the end of May, Serbs have been protesting in Zveçan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic, objecting to the new Albanian mayors working from municipal buildings. Local Serbian residents are also demanding the withdrawal of special units of the Kosovo Police from the vicinity of the buildings.

In the local elections of April 23, Serbian parties did not participate and the votes were boycotted by the Serbian population.

The international community has asked Serbia to ensure the participation of Serbs, unconditionally, in the new possible elections in the north.

In the past, Belgrade has played a key role in the participation of Serbs in the elections organized in Kosovo.

Kurti said that the organization of early elections in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo is the only way to change the local government in these municipalities inhabited by Serb majority.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo has said that he agrees with holding the elections, but added that preparations must be made to have a fair and open campaign "so that there are no threats and in the end a boycott again, and a low turnout". REL
