At least four killed after Russian attack in Lviv

At least four people have been killed after a rocket attack carried out by Russia in the Ukrainian city of Lviv.

Rescuers are searching under the rubble of an apartment building for survivors and other victims, authorities said.

In this attack, according to the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine, nine people were injured. The announcement said that the rocket attack destroyed the two upper floors of a residential building.

The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, said that about 60 apartments and 50 cars in the area where the attack was carried out were damaged.

In a video message, Sadovyi said it was the biggest attack on civilian infrastructure in Lviv since Russia launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine in February last year.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said via Telegram that "unfortunately there are dead and injured. There will definitely be an answer for the enemy. It will be a clear answer".

Zelensky has also published drone footage of the damage caused by this attack.

Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, who have fled their homes from areas in the east and other parts of the country, have taken refuge in Lviv.

Lviv is located in the west of Ukraine, about 70 kilometers from the border with Poland./ Rel
