The Security Council of the United Nations Organization (UN) is expected to hold a meeting specifically regarding the dangers posed by artificial intelligence.
This meeting has been called and will be organized by the United Kingdom.
The purpose of this meeting is to explore the endless possibilities of artificial intelligence by analyzing the potential danger from this technology, such as the possible use of this technology in autonomous weapons or nuclear control.
United Kingdom Ambassador Barbara Woodward, during the British presidency of the Council this month, scheduled the meeting for July 18.
The meeting is expected to feature presentations from international artificial intelligence experts and from UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who recently raised concerns about the alarming impact of artificial intelligence, which has recently advanced greatly, highlighting in particular the concerns of expressed by its creators.
"These scientists and experts have called on the world to act, declaring AI an existential threat to humanity on the same level as the danger of nuclear war," the UN chief said./ CNA
