The European Union's special envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, is expected to visit Kosovo today and will hold a meeting with President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
The purpose of the visit is to expand the situation in the north of Kosovo.
Lajcak is expected to visit Serbia as well, to convince the parties to return to dialogue.
"At 3:00 p.m., the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, welcomes the Special Representative of the EU, Miroslav Lajçak, in a meeting", it is stated in the announcement of the information office of the Presidency.
This is Lajcak's second visit within a month, after he visited in early June together with the American emissary for the Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.
The EU constantly calls on both sides to take immediate steps to de-escalate the situation and return to the dialogue for the normalization of relations, which is mediated by Brussels.
These calls were also made during the last summit of EU leaders that was held last week in Brussels.
