Peace talks from the US/ Zelensky optimistic: Most of Kiev's demands have been met

French President Emmanuel Macron has outlined plans to develop a $12 billion aircraft carrier, which will be the largest warship ever built in Europe.
The ship will replace the warship 'Charles de Gaulle', launched in 1994, and will serve to strengthen France's maritime defense.
Macron announced the project, known as the Porte-Avions Nouvelle Generation (Pang), while speaking to troops stationed at a French military base in Abu Dhabi.
The French government said the ship will be at sea until 2038, when the Charles de Gaulle is expected to be 'retired'.
Work on the nuclear propulsion components began last year and the final order should be made under the 2025 budget.
"The decision to launch this vast program was taken this week. The project is expected to strengthen France's industrial base, especially small and medium-sized businesses," Macron said.
French Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin said the warship will replace the 'Charles de Gaulle', which entered service in 2001, after 15 years of planning and construction. /CNA
