The European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, before the start of the Summit of Western Balkan and EU leaders, declared that the coming year will be another reality.

In his speech, Varhely emphasized that any country that is ready can become part of the common European market. According to him, for this to happen we have to work hard. 

"The sense of urgency due to geopolitical changes is great and this is one reason why we have gathered. To bring the BP closer to the level of matching its policies with those of the EU, for this reason I am happy to hear that the Balkans are optimistic for the first time. Of course, it has its own tones, but the undertones are positive and I believe it is clear that the EU's offer must lead us to a new institutional cycle, so the next European Commission must be for enlargement, for enlargement to happen, for this that we have made these years to last and BP to become part of the union. With all the means we have engaged, in 2027 BP will have the same treatment as EU member countries. This means that there will be 90% points in the cohesion of our countries, so there will be no excuses for BP not to be ready in 2027 to join the EU. For this to happen, we have to work hard in the field because this is the project I explained. It does not work unless it is implemented on the ground. What I proposed in the growth plan is not only for getting closer to the EU, but also for growth itself. We want the EU to use the chances that your common membership will offer before you join the union," he said./ CNA
