The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that it is the opposition that should get ready for the elections and not the government.

Kurti said that if they are comfortable, then he will go until the end of his term.

"The opposition must get ready for elections. We are always ready, otherwise if they are comfortable, the mandate goes to the end", Kurti told reporters briefly, after participating in an event in Pristina.

The mandate of the current Government ends at the beginning of 2025, but the opposition parties are demanding early elections.

For this request of the opposition, on May 13, Kurti met with Memli Krasniqi, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo in the opposition.

"For me, it was very important to discuss the legislative agenda because we have a lot of stuck international agreements", Kurti said on May 14, referring to the meeting with Krasniq./ CNA
