The suspect was arrested within a few hours, following a joint operation by the police and the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).

The SBU has classified the incident as a terrorist attack. Meanwhile, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on December 15 that it had arrested a suspect in a car bomb blast in the Donetsk region that it said killed one person and wounded another. injured.

Russian state media have said the suspect is a local resident.

The FSB suspects that the suspect placed the explosive device under the car, and activated it remotely, acting under orders from the Ukrainian intelligence service.

Russian authorities have not released the identity of the slain man, describing him only as an official.
