The leader of North Korea arrives in Russia

Kim Jong Un's heavily armed private train has arrived in Russia for the highly anticipated and closely watched summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, amid warnings from the United States that the two leaders could reach an arms deal.

The train was traveling north through Primorsky Krai in the country's Far East region, Russian state news agency RIA reported. South Korea's Defense Ministry said the North Korean leader is believed to have entered Russia on Tuesday morning local time.

A video shared by Russia Today on Monday and located by CNN showed the train purportedly carrying Kim near the Russian-North Korean border near the Tumen River.

Russia is desperate for new supplies of ammunition and shells after more than 18 months of war in Ukraine has left its military battered, while North Korea, which has faced years of international sanctions over its nuclear program its nuclear weapons, it lacks everything from money, food to missile technology.
