In a terrifying development that has shocked Greece, 25-year-old Eirini Mourtzoukou has confessed to the deaths of three babies, two of whom were her own children, and the murder of her infant sister more than a decade ago.

Mourtzoukou, who was arrested yesterday, July 8, in connection with a series of suspicious infant deaths in Amaliada, western Greece, admitted during questioning that she was responsible for the deaths.

According to sources close to the investigation, her confession included disturbing details that shocked even experienced investigators.

According to Greek media, Mourtzoukou allegedly told authorities that she killed her 18-month-old sister in February 2014, when she herself was just 14 years old. The girl's death, which occurred in Argos, was initially attributed to interstitial pneumonitis, a form of lung inflammation.

As for the babies, the suspect claimed that the death of her second child was accidental, stating that she suffocated the baby in her sleep. However, she admitted to intentionally killing the other two babies. The murders reportedly occurred on June 19, 2022, and October 17, 2023./CNA
