Phone call lasting about 90 minutes/ Trump-Putin conversation ends

US President Donald Trump's phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin has ended. The call lasted about 90 minutes and the end of the phone call has been confirmed by White House officials.

US officials earlier said the talks were going well. There has been no comment yet from either leader on the content of the conversation.

Trump previously said he planned to discuss land, power plants and the sharing of certain assets with Putin.

There are no details on how advanced the ceasefire talks are.

The presidents were expected to focus their conversation on ongoing peace negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. Trump said earlier this week that he planned to discuss Ukrainian assets with the Kremlin and what concessions might be required to end the occupation.

Ahead of the long-awaited phone call, Trump posted on the 'Truth Social' network that he would speak with Putin on Tuesday morning, local time in Washington. /CNA
