Meeting with Merz/Trump: New attacks target more Iranian leaders

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that the new attacks targeted another group of leaders.

"Today there was another blow to the new leadership, and it seems to have been quite significant," he said.

Trump did not specify which Iranian leaders were targeted or how many people were killed in the strikes. The attack came after officials said a missile strike over the weekend killed 49 Iranian officials, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Trump also praised the US military operation in Iran and said that almost everything has been brought down.

"They don't have a navy. It's down. They don't have an air force. It's down. They don't have aerial reconnaissance, that's down. Their radar is down. And almost everything is down," President Trump said.

Trump added that they are doing very well and that the US has a great military. He countered that Israel's plans to attack Iran prompted it to launch attacks.

"They would attack if we didn't, they would attack first, I strongly believed that. If I had anything, I could have forced Israel to intervene, but Israel was ready, and we were ready, and we had a very, very powerful impact, because practically everything they have has been shot down. Now their number of missiles is going down a lot," Trump said.
