Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Embassy in Berlin damaged with slogan "Kosovo

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo has said that offensive labels with chauvinistic content in Serbian have been placed on the identification plaque of the diplomatic facility outside the Kosovo Embassy in Berlin.

According to the announcement, the graffiti contains nationalist and inflammatory slogans, including messages such as "No surrender" and "Kosovo is Serbia," as well as other appeals with a propagandistic and divisive connotation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo announced that, immediately after identifying the case, the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Berlin notified the German authorities.

"Such actions are unacceptable and contradict international norms and conventions that guarantee the inviolability of diplomatic missions and harm the spirit of coexistence and respect between states," the MFA statement said.

Derogatory terms and narratives against Kosovo Albanians have been frequently used in public discourse in Serbia, including by senior state officials.

In March last year, during a debate in the Serbian Parliament, Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabi? referred to the media from Kosovo in offensive terms, despite a court ruling in Serbia declaring the term "Serbian" politically incorrect and offensive.

Also, the Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia has continuously used narratives of "persecution" or "terror against Serbs", while its representatives have made harsh statements against Kosovo institutions.

Such cases, according to local security organizations, have been accompanied by the spread of misinformation and divisive narratives, especially on platforms like Telegram./REL
