Today is the 36th attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo

More than two months have passed since the soap opera of electing the new speaker of the ninth legislature, and it seems that this will continue indefinitely.

Thirty-five continuations so far ended in failure due to the lack of votes from the Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo and Alternativa for Albulena Haxhiu to become the new Speaker of the Parliament.

The elected deputies will gather today for the thirty-sixth time in the continuation of the session for the constitution of the new Assembly, starting at eleven o'clock.

The Constitutional Court has not yet returned the response on the secret voting method requested for interpretation by the parliamentary group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.

The Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo and Alternativa are demanding a commission to oversee the secret ballot process for the election of Haxhiu as the new Speaker of the Parliament, in an attempt to break the political deadlock.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, and NISMA have consistently reiterated that they will not vote for Albulena Haxhiu and have expressed their opposition to the secret ballot.
