Explosion in Damascus/ A 3-story building is hit, 1 injured

An explosion occurred on Friday evening in the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus. Syrian state media reported that a woman was injured in the explosion.

Syrian authorities did not provide further details on the cause, but it is learned that the explosion occurred after a shell fell on a three-story building.

The explosion was the result of an attack carried out by unidentified individuals targeting a house in the area. Security forces have opened an investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Local Damascus media reported a large security force presence in Mezzeh after the explosion, with ambulances and emergency personnel sent to the scene.

Security officials said at the scene that they are investigating the incident. /CNA
