The US also provides $400 million in military aid to Ukraine

The United States of America announced on Friday the new military aid package for Ukraine, which is worth 400 million dollars. It consists mainly of ammunition, but for the first time will include tactical bridges to move tanks and armored vehicles.

The bridges could be used by Ukrainian troops who are trained in "combined arms maneuvers," which is the coordinated use of artillery shelling, along with tank and armored vehicle assault movements, to retake territory captured by the forces. Russians since they invaded Ukraine a year ago.

Sipas propozimit të fundit, vendet anëtare që ofrojnë municion menjëherë, u garantohet se do të rimbursohen me shpejtësi.

To finance the project, member states will have to use an additional one billion euros, as they already agreed in December to supplement the European Peace Foundation with another 2 billion euros, with a possibility of an additional 3.5 billion euros.

According to an EU official, a total of 12 companies in nine member states are producing the ammunition needed for Ukraine. The European Commission will stimulate these companies to increase production, with guarantees for long-term demand.

According to various estimates, Ukraine is firing 6,000-7,000 artillery shells every day, which is about a third of Russia's total.

The plan will be discussed by EU defense ministers next week./ REL
