Biden and Scholz meet at the White House

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visits the White House on Friday for a meeting with US President Joe Biden, as the two leaders voiced their concerns that China could be supplying Russia with weapons for its war in Ukraine.

Such a move by China could potentially change the trajectory of the war, allowing Moscow to replenish its depleted stockpile of armaments.

Scholz, during a speech in the German Parliament, called on China to use its influence in Moscow to press for the withdrawal of Russian troops and not to supply Russia with arms.
