The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said this Wednesday that maintaining a safe environment in Kosovo is "key to the stability of the Western Balkan region."
In a year-end greeting to the soldiers of the alliance, Secretary Stoltenberg said that "the world we live in is more dangerous".
According to him, to respond to this situation, NATO has taken steps to strengthen the defense of its member countries.
Stoltenberg also spoke about his visit to Kosovo, where he met the soldiers of the KFOR peacekeeping force.
"A real war is happening in Europe. A new war in the Middle East, tensions in the Western Balkans. Brutal terrorism continues and climate change is fueling conflict. Last month I visited KFOR troops in the northern part of Kosovo. (Their) help in maintaining a safe environment for everyone in Kosovo is key to the stability of the wider Western Balkans region," said Stoltenberg./ CNA
