A study found that carrots provide an anti-cancer effect when consumed in sufficient amounts.

Eating five servings of carrots per week was associated with a 20% reduction in the development of all types of cancer, according to a study at the University of Newcastle.

Even consuming just one serving per week contributed to a reduction, with a 4% lower chance of developing the disease compared to people who never eat carrots.

The study concluded that eating the whole carrot, rather than carotene, the compound that causes the vegetable's pigment, can ward off cancer.

The experts also concluded that the Rooster potatoes were "perfect".
