Russia confirms it has received White House plan to end war in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirms he has received the US proposal to end the war in Ukraine.

Speaking in Moscow, he says Donald Trump's proposals were first discussed at the two presidents' summit in Alaska in August.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine faces one of the most difficult moments in its history and risks losing the US as a key partner due to Washington's plans for peace with Russia.

In an address to the nation, the Ukrainian leader says he is working constructively with the US on the proposal.

The US plan includes proposals that Kiev had previously ruled out, such as giving up areas of the eastern Donetsk region it still controls, reducing the size of its army and pledging not to join NATO./ CNA
