The Italian government approves the decree on immigrants

The Council of Ministers in Italy has approved a legal decree for immigrants. This decree aims to remove obstacles in the implementation of the agreement between Albania and Italy for illegal immigrants.

This decision follows the decision of the immigration section of the Court of Rome, which ordered the urgent return to Italy of 12 immigrants from Egypt and Bangladesh after coming from unsafe countries, based on a previous decision of the European Court of Justice.

The provision should make the determination of safe places for repatriation the primary norm and no longer secondary, as is the decree of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in agreement with those of the Interior and Justice, with which the list has been updated every year so far.
