While filming an interview/ LDK MP in Kosovo physically clashes with a citizen
Armend Zemaj

Democratic League of Kosovo MP Armend Zemaj was involved in a physical incident with a citizen while conducting an interview. The Kosovo police have been notified of the incident, and have obtained all the footage captured by the camera during Zemaj's public interview.

The MP himself reacted to the case through a social media post, stating that the physical altercation occurred after the citizen insulted him. Zemaj writes that his action was in self-defense, while emphasizing that he should have remained calm in all circumstances and that violence is not the right response.

"Today, during a public interview, an unpleasant situation occurred, for which I sincerely regret. A citizen, I do not know if it was accidental or intentional, the police will verify this, insulted and verbally provoked me with unacceptable words, in front of the media and the journalist who was in the interview. At that moment, I reacted in a self-defense manner in an emotional state, which does not represent either my personal beliefs or the principles that I represent as an MP and as a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo.

In these cases of attacks and low insults, I should certainly maintain my calm and dignity in all circumstances and despite the provocation, which has never happened to me during my career, violence, in any form, is not the right response. For this action, I express regret and publicly apologize.

I have full respect for every person, every opinion and every criticism, no matter how harsh it may be, mine is to not react with emotions. Therefore, it should serve as a lesson for me to be more patient and more restrained in every situation. Thank you all for your understanding , "Zemaj said in his post. /CNA
