Taylor Swift's three upcoming concerts in Vienna have been canceled after a possible attack threat. The shows, part of the Swift Eras tour, were to be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Ernst Happel Stadium.

On Wednesday, two people were arrested on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks at this important music event. 

A statement from the organizers said: "Due to confirmation by government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone's safety."

Earlier, Austria's Director General of Public Security, Franz Ruf, said a 19-year-old Austrian citizen was arrested on Wednesday morning in Ternitz in the province of Lower Austria. According to him, the second arrest took place in Vienna in the afternoon, but did not give further details about the suspect.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said in a post on X that the cancellations would be a "bitter disappointment for all fans" but the situation was "very serious".

"Thanks to the intensive cooperation of our police and security agencies with foreign services, they were notified earlier about the attack. A tragedy was prevented," he said. /CNA
