An 89-year-old woman was brutally beaten and raped by a man. The event took place in Sesto San Giovanni, a municipality on the outskirts of Milan on the night between September 26 and 27.

The suspected perpetrator is a 42-year-old homeless man who was arrested on Friday, October 6. The man is already under investigation for sexual violence and robbery against the elderly woman.

The scene, according to the Italian media, was filmed almost entirely by the cameras of the surveillance system in the center of Sesto.

At first, when the 42-year-old met the old woman, he appeared polite, although from some videos found by investigators, it can be seen that he was walking as if he was not completely sober, apparently due to substance abuse or alcohol.

When the two arrived at the old woman's apartment, the attitude of the 42-year-old changed. He beats her, robs her and rapes her. Only the next day, the caretaker of the building noticed blood stains on the floor and called the police, which led to the discovery of the incident.

The elderly woman, still shocked by what happened, was visited at the Mangiagalli clinic in Milan./ CNA
