Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been asked whether a deal could be reached to free the roughly 240 Israeli hostages taken during the October 7 attack.

"There may be," he told NBC's.

"The less I say about it, the more likely it is to materialize."

Netanyahu gave no details, but said one thing that could force a deal was the military pressure his defense force was putting on Hamas.

But a US official has argued that a pause in the conflict would be needed to allow concessions.
