The former president of Finland, Martti Ahtisaari

The former president of Finland, Martti Ahtisaari, has passed away at the age of 86.

The news was given by the Finnish Presidency. Ahtisaari served as the president of Finland from 1994 to 2000.

Likewise, the well-known Finnish politician led the talks on the status of Kosovo in Vienna. Martti Ahtisaari won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2008.

During his career, Ahtisaari also served in several important positions in the Foreign Ministry of this country as well as in the UN.
